Collection: Db Carry Bags

Hoddevik, a village on Norway's west coast, 2009. Two strangers meet in the waves: Truls Brataas, a Norwegian engineering student, and Jon Olsson, Swedish freeski legend and one of the first major YouTubers, who travels more than 300 days a year. Out of the conversation between the waves comes a shared frustration: bags for skis and boards are heavy, bulky and stupid. Truls starts sketching and developing in his halls of residence; Jon tests and shows the audience. The result is a ski bag the world has never seen: length-adjustable, compressible, light and strong. It lacks a name. Jon asks his fans on YouTube, and the community repeatedly suggests the same thing: Douchebags. Bold, unforgettable, exactly in the spirit of the crew around the brand. The first run of 500 bags sells in 2012 within a week to twelve countries. Over time the joke grows into a serious Scandinavian company, the name is shortened to Db and the portfolio expands to rucksacks and cases united by one clever detail: the Hook-Up system, which lets bags clip together so you pull one unit through the airport with one hand, while the ribbed Rib Cage construction protects the contents from impacts. Today the brand is found on the backs of photographers, skiers and business travellers, and in 2024 LVMH Luxury Ventures invested. A company born from surf small talk: designed for the journey, not the shelf.
