Every wash of synthetic clothing releases thousands of microfibres that pass through the washing machine and the water-treatment plant and end up in rivers, seas and eventually the food chain.
Guppyfriend is the answer in a form that disarms with its simplicity: a wash bag.
You put the synthetics inside, wash as normal, and the released microfibres stay trapped in the bag's corners, from where you tip them into the bin rather than the water system.
The bag's fine weave also reduces the fibre breakage itself, so clothing wears out more slowly.
The bag was created as part of the STOP! Micro Waste initiative, developed in collaboration with scientific institutions, and the proceeds support microplastic awareness.
