HOME STUDYO
Mathieu Van Damme spent years at Case Studyo, where he created limited-edition collectible objects with world-class artists — design you touch in galleries and pay gallery prices for.
Together with Esther Noben from the creative studio Toykyo, they then asked a question that sounds simple but strikes at the core of the design world: why should a playful, artistically conceived object be the preserve of collectors?Home Studyo is their answer.
The Belgian brand transfers the aesthetic of collectible art design to everyday objects: mugs with faces, vases with figures, candle holders and plant pots that look as though they've escaped from a gallery but cost the same as ordinary tableware.
They are handmade in Portugal, a country with one of the strongest ceramic traditions in Europe, so honest craft stands behind the playful form.
The result turns a set table into a small vernissage and a shelf into a personal exhibition.
Art for breakfast, no ticket, no gloves.
Exactly how design should work: daily.
