Men's PBG
PBG, in full Project Bag Girls, was founded in 2011 by childhood friends Aneta Vojtová and Tereza Mayer, and from the start has gone against the logic of the leather-goods business on three counts.
First, material: vegetable-tanned leather instead of the usual chrome tanning — an older, slower craft in which the hide is treated with tannins from bark and fruit, ages beautifully and doesn't burden waterways with heavy metals.
Second, volume: limited editions of dozens of pieces, some models just thirty worldwide, so you are almost certain never to meet your rucksack on the street.
And third, design: minimalism that lets the material speak, no unnecessary buckle, no logo across the entire front.
The result is Czech leather goods at a small, honest scale: things bought rarely, patinating into beauty and outlasting fashion cycles because they never started in one.
PBG is the quiet answer to the question of what local luxury should look like: not by price, but by care, by number of pieces and by a material with a life of its own.
