Sandqvist was founded in 2004 by Anton Sandqvist, a trained engineer who sewed his first bag himself because he couldn't find anything on the market between an outdoor trekking pack and an office briefcase.
His Stockholm brand then filled and defined precisely that gap: bags and rucksacks for Nordic city life, in which you cycle to work in the morning, go shopping in the afternoon and head to the woods at the weekend — ideally with one and the same rucksack.
The design holds Swedish sobriety — clean shapes, honest volumes, no noise — and the materials match a climate that knows no bargaining: tough Cordura, organic cotton canvas, leather that patinates.
The brand has long worked with recycled and certified materials and puts emphasis on repairability, because the best waste is the waste that never happens.
Sandqvist is Scandinavian pragmatism in its purest form: nature and city are not two worlds requiring two sets of gear but one life.
And for one life, one good bag is enough.
