Ucon Acrobatics Carry Bags
Ucon Acrobatics is one of the oldest names on Berlin's streetwear scene.
Jochen Smuda and Martin Fussenegger founded the brand in 2001 and still run it today, without investors — a rarity in its own right in the fashion business.
Today's Ucon is synonymous with minimalist rolltop rucksacks: clean lines, thoughtful internal organisation and materials recycled from textile waste rather than PET bottles.
The products are vegan and built from up to 96 per cent of a single material, so they can one day be recycled again.
Berlin here isn't a marketing label but the actual environment: the rucksacks look exactly like the city they were created in.
Restrained, functional, without a single unnecessary detail, built for the daily commute through the city in any weather.
Closing the material loop is still held back by the world around it — a unified textile take-back system doesn't exist — but the design is ready for it.
Ucon Acrobatics is proof that an independent brand can survive a quarter-century of fashion cycles if it does one thing and keeps doing it better: a rucksack you buy for the look and keep for the function.
And that it can be done with integrity is confirmed by the highest B Corp score in the rucksack category.
